No Sunday Thoughts Today. Today is Father’s Day or Fathers’ Day. Over the years, I have published several entries regarding my own Dad, and being a Dad.
Today, our family will be over to our house and we will celebrate the day with food, drink, loud talking, talking over a loud TV– probably while watching a kids’ show on Netflix for my grandson, and most likely some conversation will lead to a search on the Internet to prove a fact, confirm a story, and to watch a video of some “oldies” song that somebody mentioned in a side conversation.
My wife has made my Mom’s “famous” banana pudding for dessert, and I’m sure we’ll tell a story or two about my Dad and Mom or my wife’s Dad. I’m also sure one of my kids will mention a story or two about their Dad, as well.
Whenever I ponder what my own kids think of their Dad, I always reflect back on a Father’s Day card, my daughter gave me while she was dating her soon-to-be husband. I’ve shown it here before–but for any new readers I might have; I thought it was appropriate to publish again.
