ON THE ROAD ONCE AGAIN

On April 30, 2010; On The Road With Dave, my blog of over 4 years went dark.

I explained in that day’s blog entry…

“On The Road With Dave” will be experiencing technical difficulties over the next few weeks as we migrate to a new blogging platform. I apologize to all my readers, (Hey! you two, over in the corner..listen up!)No posts will appear here until migration is complete and there will be minor glitches after that and design issues that will need to be resolved. Please stay tuned and check back for the re-appearance of “On The Road”

That was to be the last entry travelitenuntil 2015. The migration never took place. Procrastination led to inaction, followed by other events taking the place of blogging and writing.

A lot has happened in the last 5 years and back in March, I decided that I needed to start writing again. I shook off the fear and inaction and decided I would learn how to rebuild the site from scratch. I learned some simple CSS code and watched many nights of tutorial videos. I pulled my hair, cussed, and spoke in gibberish at my computer screen.  But whoever said, “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks”; never wanted to really accomplish anything.

I promised myself that “On The Road With Dave” would once again be “live” on my 53rd Birthday. I kept that promise!

Consider this a “soft opening” not a Grand Opening. There’s still a few tweaks that need to be made. The Archives are not active yet and there is still some dust settling, but I look forward to continuing to work on things as we settle in.

I’m glad to welcome those two loyal readers that waited 5 years looking for that very last posting to change. I hope it was worth the wait.

Welcome back Dave! Looking forward to seeing what you’ve been up to!

  2. Soft landing has been accomplished. Now bring on the hard stuff, the whiskey of writing.

Thank you sir. Looking forward to catching up everyone. Afraid that no MLM talk will not drive traffic here anymore, but somebody might find something they like. Tell your readers, I’m back.
