Some Change Is Good

Several years ago, after migrating my original Blogspot blog to it’s own domain here at “On The Road With Dave”, I was not able to make a hosting account payment and lost all of the blog; except the actual articles.

My only source for comparing my “fixes” to the original design was a small snapshot of the site saved by Technorati. The entire template and all photos and links were gone. It took me several months to restore the site to some semblance of normalcy.

During a recent search of a massive “Favorites” list on my AOL portal,(Yeah I still have AOL 9.0 for some features)I discovered a mock-up of my original “On The Road With Dave” design. It was large enough to actually compare colors and design. The only thing the mock-up did not have was the background gif image used in the Technorati snapshot. Unfortunately, the snapshot is too small to enlarge to see the GIF design clearly. The consensus at the Robison household is that the gif is a transparent weave, maybe thatch…maybe a tartan. We’ll keep searching.

For now, I have “On The Road With Dave” looking as close as it has ever looked to the original design created by my blog mentor, Eric Janssen.

And in case you haven’t noticed, the Title banner looks a little different this week, in honor of the Apollo Moon Landing anniversary. My youngest son gave me a “On The Moon With Dave” variation of the familiar blog banner.

We’ll go back to the old banner in a week or so.

Anyway, I like the changes, hope you agree.
