Kathleen VanderVelde at “Things I’ve Seen” has nailed it once again with her declaration to blog more.
Kathy explains her recent involvement with Facebook and other social networks has taken her away from blogging, and she promises to blog more; because of the satisfaction that blogging brings to the author, as well as to the reader.
“I guess my point is this: If the only way you connect is through social networking, it’s like eating only desserts. It’s sugary, fun and easy to take. But it always leaves me wanting more, and is, in the end, somehow unsatisfying. Blogging is the meal, the main course, the sustenance. Sure it is more work. But it is more productive. And more satisfying in the long run.”
Speaking for myself and my lack of blogging…Kathy hits the nail on the head.
Since, “On The Road With Dave” is back on the ‘net; I realize I have missed writing to a wider audience, rather than just corresponding individually to those I’m meeting at MYspace and LinkedIN. (Although, I have recently increased my involvement at LinkedIn.com
I, too, will be blogging more.
